The PreBioM line of microplates allows researchers studying human or animal gut microbiome communities to better understand metabolism of prebiotics. It is also designed for uses such as optimizing bioprocesses and developing drugs.
These plates offer key advantages when used in conjunction with the Odin family of instruments and Odin software.
The PreBioM plates consist of a curated selection of prebiotic substrates of various molecular weights designed to characterize bacterial species and their metabolic pathways, ranging from simple sugars to dietary fibers.
Using our Odin™ family of instruments, these plates allow you to kinetically characterize aerobic or anaerobic growth as the microbes selectively consume the prebiotic substrates, providing the metabolic rate, lag phase time, log phase duration, and more. Odin software knows what substrates are found in each well and saves you time by generating streamlined reports. Alternatively, you can use a redox reporter dye to measure metabolic consumption to accurately profile the function of individual microbes or communities.
The plate options are:
Plate name | Description |
---|---|
PreBioM1 | PB-M1 Mono/disaccharide prebiotic substrate utilization assay |
PreBioM2 | PB-M2 Poly/oligosaccharide prebiotic substrate utilization assay |
PreBioM3 | PB-M3 Fiber/food extract prebiotic substrate utilization assay |
PreBioM Bundle | All three PreBioM microplates |
