Each Odin™ instrument can be configured to run and analyze Identification and/or Phenotyping experiments. For any configuration, the user-friendly interface makes it easy to set up, analyze, and export your data.
Whether your Odin is set up to detect unknown microbes, characterize your cells for detailed phenotypic profiles, or both, Odin software simplifies the process of designing experiments and defining plates.
Multiple users can create and execute plate runs at any time, with data organized into projects and batches. You can configure up to 10 user-defined fields to store meta-data about your samples.
The user interface provides an intuitive workflow, making it easy to save, load plates, and initiate runs.
Data Acquisition Visualized
Once a batch is loaded into the instrument, Odin automatically incubates and reads plates at your selected cycle interval. After the first read, you can view live data and monitor sample progress, including live kinetic curves for each well in two colors representing different wavelengths.
Streamlined Identification
Phenotypic identification quickly identifies the growing microbe. Simply inoculate the organism into a test plate and place it in Odin. At each interval, Odin compares the organism's metabolic fingerprint with its database of over 2,900 species, including bacteria, anaerobes, yeast, and fungi. The experiment stops when a match is found and generates a clear, exportable report. Take a look at an example:
Phenotypic Characterization
Measure growth and metabolism in Odin across a wide range of conditions, enabling you to thoroughly characterize cell phenotypes. With its knowledge of the contents in your plates, Odin streamlines data analysis by automatically comparing samples and calculating key kinetic parameters.
- The platform also provides live KEGG links for deeper insights into each compound or drug within the wells.
- The curation screen lets you easily choose to include all replicates or exclude outliers, while the analysis function aggregates replicate samples for accurate kinetic parameter calculation.
- Detailed reports are automatically generated, highlighting compounds that show significant differences in specific parameters.
Community Analysis
Biolog’s technology is widely used to study microbial communities and their functional roles across various ecosystems. We provide solutions for analyzing individual microbes as well as entire microbiomes or other communities. Odin software enhances this process with community-level analysis features, making it quick and efficient.
- It automatically aggregates replicate wells for plates with multiple sets of the same substrates and allows for both single-sample analysis and pairwise comparisons between any two samples.
- By utilizing kinetic data from Odin, you can track how parameters evolve over time.
- The data can be standardized to estimate the functional diversity of microbial communities and observe how it changes with time or in response to different conditions.
- Odin also measures Average Well Color Development, Shannon’s Diversity Index, and Shannon’s Evenness Index for each sample.
Regulatory Compliance
Odin software includes built-in features to manage user access and safeguard your data, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. For enhanced functionality, such as Audit Trail generation and enabling electronic signatures for all reports, Odin offers an optional 21 CFR Part 11 package.
Single-Click Data Export
Odin can generate large amounts of detailed data simultaneously.
Whatever your needs, Odin software makes it simple to export everything – from raw reads and graphs to pairwise comparisons, calculated parameters, and reports.
